We love Bear Lake!!!

A couple of weekends ago, we went with some friends to Bear Lake for their famous Raspberry Days. We ate lunch on the beach, swam all day, had yummy Bear Lake pizza for dinner and topped it all off with a Raspberry shake. This year we even had chocolate covered raspberries. Yummy!!!! The weather was perfect and it was a great way to get away from our everyday hustle and bustle. Thank goodness for small weekend adventures. Thanks mom and dad for letting us stay at your house.

Football and Goodbyes!!!

Jacob started football a couple of weeks ago and is loving it. He has only complained once about being too tired. I don't blame him. They practice everyday for 90 minutes, out in the heat. I would quit after 10 minutes. They run lots of drills and get to tackle each other. I think he likes wearing the uniform the best, but not running around in it for that long. It makes me tired just watching. Games start next week and go for 7 weeks. Should be a fun season. I just can't believe he is old enough to be doing this. My little boy is growing up!!!

This week we had to say goodbye to my brother Glenn. He has finally made it out of BYU and is heading to law school in California. Now we are down to 2 Germany Kids left in Utah plus my parents. My kids absolutely adore Glenn, especially Mackenzie. Glenn was only 13 or so when Mackenzie was born. Time flies by so fast. We are really going to miss him!! We are proud of you Buddy!!! We'll come visit soon, we love you!!!!!

Newport Beach

Well, since our kids just got out of school on June 27th and we started back this week, July 21st, we thought we'd better squeeze in a trip to the beach before our 3 week summer was over!!!! AHHH!!!!

So, my whole side of the family (minus JP, we missed you, and another BIL) spent a week in Newport Beach thanks to my parents. It was fun to hit the beach and/or pool EVERYDAY and relax. The kids played in the sand and water with their cousins (who all live too far away), attempted surfing with Uncle Jeff, had In-N-Out burgers not enough times, ate Sprinkles cupcakes (amazing), and even were surprised with a day at Disneyland. Thanks Dad, we will never forget that. Even though we spent a week down there, it all went by way too fast. Now, back to school, reality, and laundry. Hope everyone else is still enjoying their summer. Take advantage before it's over.

Happy 4th Weekend!!!

We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. I am so thankful to be living in this country. I am even more thankful for the men and women who are fighting for our freedom. Mackenzie and I had the opportunity to attend the Stadium of Fire concert this year in Provo. It was amazing!!! They had Glenn Beck as the host, a performance by the Blue Man Group, lots of tributes to the troops and their families, and of course the main event, Miley Cyrus (aka. Hannah Montana). JP had the awesome chance to stay home with the other 3 kids and watch movies and light fireworks. THANKS JP for letting us go!!! We had great seats and a fun "girls" night out together.

We also had the chance to see our Best Friends from Idaho this weekend. They actually came down to Lehi to have their youngest daughter get baptized the same day with her cousin. That way all the family could be there. So, we were able to go as well. (Thanks Jen and Steve for letting us crash at your place). We used to live next door to the Buchanan's in Clearfield. We have known each other for 8 years now and still keep in touch and visit them as much as we can. We actually met and became good friends when Lori was pregnant with Kinsey and I was pregnant with Jacob. So, Brittany was 2 1/2 at the time and Mackenzie was 18 months old. Those 3 girls LOVE each other and have such a great time when they are together. They get along so well!!! They will be best friends FOREVER!!! We miss them so much. Here is a picture, probably from 5 years ago, of the 3 girls, and then one from this weekend. My how time flies. We hope you are all having a great summer. We have one more week and then we are off on our annual trip to Newport. I can't wait to be on the beach!!!!

Is it Summer Yet??

So, while everyone else is out of school and enjoying the pool and warm weather we are having, we are STILL in school!!! That is the only thing I hate about year-round school. We get no summer break. This is the last week of school and I can't be more excited. I am ready to play with my kids. We only get 3 weeks off and then it is back to the next grade. That is what I do like about year-round. They will be ready to go back to school in 3 weeks. And so will I. So, we haven't been doing much lately. The twins occupy themselves with dress-ups, riding their bikes with no training wheels (video soon) and a little mischief every once in a while. Last week they had a tape party in my office. AND, of course, what would June be without fire pits, smores, and baseball games. Jacob had a great first season and LOVED it!!! His coach finally realized on the last game that he could hit both righty and lefty. He would switch it up whenever he felt like it. His favorite was playing catcher. Wonder where he gets that from?? Mackenzie stays busy reading her books and writing stories and songs. She wants to be a rockstar ya know. Wonder where she gets that from? HA HA!!!! We are counting down the days till we see my whole family at the beach. Hopefully we have enough gas money to get us down there but not back!!! Wouldn't that be nice? Oh yeah, AND, we have a new guest in our house. My little bro, David!! He got a great job in Salt Lake, so he is staying with us until he finishes training and finds a place of his own, closer to work. Right bubba? The kids love having him. Hope you are all having a GREAT summer so far.........
