Newport Beach

Well, since our kids just got out of school on June 27th and we started back this week, July 21st, we thought we'd better squeeze in a trip to the beach before our 3 week summer was over!!!! AHHH!!!!

So, my whole side of the family (minus JP, we missed you, and another BIL) spent a week in Newport Beach thanks to my parents. It was fun to hit the beach and/or pool EVERYDAY and relax. The kids played in the sand and water with their cousins (who all live too far away), attempted surfing with Uncle Jeff, had In-N-Out burgers not enough times, ate Sprinkles cupcakes (amazing), and even were surprised with a day at Disneyland. Thanks Dad, we will never forget that. Even though we spent a week down there, it all went by way too fast. Now, back to school, reality, and laundry. Hope everyone else is still enjoying their summer. Take advantage before it's over.

Happy 4th Weekend!!!

We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. I am so thankful to be living in this country. I am even more thankful for the men and women who are fighting for our freedom. Mackenzie and I had the opportunity to attend the Stadium of Fire concert this year in Provo. It was amazing!!! They had Glenn Beck as the host, a performance by the Blue Man Group, lots of tributes to the troops and their families, and of course the main event, Miley Cyrus (aka. Hannah Montana). JP had the awesome chance to stay home with the other 3 kids and watch movies and light fireworks. THANKS JP for letting us go!!! We had great seats and a fun "girls" night out together.

We also had the chance to see our Best Friends from Idaho this weekend. They actually came down to Lehi to have their youngest daughter get baptized the same day with her cousin. That way all the family could be there. So, we were able to go as well. (Thanks Jen and Steve for letting us crash at your place). We used to live next door to the Buchanan's in Clearfield. We have known each other for 8 years now and still keep in touch and visit them as much as we can. We actually met and became good friends when Lori was pregnant with Kinsey and I was pregnant with Jacob. So, Brittany was 2 1/2 at the time and Mackenzie was 18 months old. Those 3 girls LOVE each other and have such a great time when they are together. They get along so well!!! They will be best friends FOREVER!!! We miss them so much. Here is a picture, probably from 5 years ago, of the 3 girls, and then one from this weekend. My how time flies. We hope you are all having a great summer. We have one more week and then we are off on our annual trip to Newport. I can't wait to be on the beach!!!!
