My Mother's Day

I have been hesitating to post about Mother's Day because I didn't want to say goodbye to my Disneyland post. I have been living vicariously through it for the past couple of weeks. But, it is time to move on.....so here is my Mother's Day post. I had a really good Mother's Day. The kids treated me to a Mother's Day spa.



I was offered a bath robe, cookies, flowers, nail painting, hair brushing and wonderful music. I highly recommend the Mother's Day Spa. I love my kids. They are so dang cute. And, thanks to John Paul I had a very relaxing day. He made a great Roast dinner and even did the dishes. What more could a girl ask for??? Thanks chief!!

Disney Vacation

Well, we just got back from a FABULOUS week at Disneyland. We couldn't have asked for better weather or fewer crowds. It was a perfect time to go. Mackenzie had the opportunity to perform with her choir at Disneyland last week, so we decided to turn it into a family vacation. It was our first trip back in almost 3 years (a record for us). We are usually annual pass holders with multiple visits per year. But, 4 kids, including twins, and a bigger mortgage can put a damper on things. Luckily we have lia sophia and priceline to help out a little. HA HA!!!! So here are some pictures from the journey........



Of course you have to start any California trip with Donuts on Newport Pier......



And a visit with our favorite "red-headed California" niece!!!!!



Haunted Mansion is always a MUST.....

Nope, but we found Minnie!!!!!

The Choral Collection hits the stage. Mackenzie is in the front row, last one on the right hand side. (Hopefully I can post video soon too, they did such a great job).



Yea!! We found Pluto too!! (I used to be so scared of him when I was little).




Both Jacob and Mackenzie were chosen for the Jedi training. They got to fight Darth Mal. I think that was the highlight of the trip for Jacob.





Kayley and Kelsey got their faces painted at the Princess Faire. They were in heaven. Talk about Money Maker for Disney and Money Pit for us. What took them so long to do this? It is pretty cool.




AND, no better way to finish our Disneyland adventure than with a Turkey Leg while waiting to watch Fantasmic (front row of course) and the Monte Cristo Sandwich from the Blue Bayou (that is a definite MUST).





And Last but not Least.......a visit with my Grandparents and a final trip to In-N-Out Burger (first in OC, then last in St. George). Couldn't have been a more perfect trip!!! Now, that is the way to do a Disneyland trip, Turner style (minus the beach). We'll save that for the Summer!!!!

Big Girl Beds!!!

The twins FINALLY have graduated to Big Girl Beds!!! It was a sad day for me, realizing that they are not babies or toddlers anymore, but a happy day for them. They are in Big Girl heaven. My awesome husband found 2 practically new Day beds AND a trundle bed all for $100 on KSL. What a great deal huh??? So, we picked the beds up today and bought some new bedding for them (we didn't even have twin sheets for them). It was fun to see them so excited to have their Big Girl Beds. No more toddler beds, my babies are growing up. We still have one extra day bed that Mackenzie might be able to use. I love great deals.

Family Night!!

We love to go out for Family Night, either to eat or something fun to do. It seems that JP and the kids have started a tradition of driving by Krispy Kreme whenever they are in the neighborhood (which is very conveniently frequent) to see if the "Hot" light is on. Of course that means, FREE doughnuts for everyone. So tonight the light was on. We stopped to watch them make the doughnuts and of course each got a hot, fresh one for FREE!! And then walked out with a dozen more. Sometimes it's the simple pleasures that make for a fun evening together.....

Covered in WHITE!!!!

Even though we woke up to snow this morning, I am not talking about the WHITE of the snow...........as I was working in my office today, the twins decided to play school in the basement. This is what I found 20 minutes later in our food storage room............Liz, I think they have out Collined you......anyone have advice for cleaning up flour??? Oh My....gotta love 4 year old twins!! Not only do we have snow outside, but a snowstorm of flour in our basement.

Flashback Friday!!

I have a friend who does Flashback Fridays on her blog, so I thought I should give it a try. So...my Flashback Friday goes all the way back to BYU-Hawaii 1993. YIKES, 15 years ago. That really dates me huh? This is my roomie, Kimberly and I. We are looking mighty fine, heading out to a school dance. Mackenzie (my 9 year old) wanted to know why my clothes were so big and baggy, hair really tall, and how come I was so skinny?? Basically my answer was, it was the 90's, and I hadn't had kids yet.........too funny and too true!!! Hopefully Kimberly will still talk to me after I have posted this lovely picture. She still is one of my greatest friends and I will never forget our time together in Hawaii.........love ya Kibim......FLAME!!!!!
